When you are in Greece, you must eat like the Greeks. Greek cuisine follows a

#Mediterranean diet which is considered as one of the healthiest diets in the entire world. A few interesting facts about Greek food is that: it is always cooked in #olive #oil, rather than consuming some parts of the animals, Greeks use the whole animals and Greek pies are staple in their diets. In Ancient times, the Greeks used to make #pies out of the left-overs to save food and savour their taste buds. Such delicious Spinach pies were one of the various tasty dishes I relished at #koutouki #Kalypso in #Athens.

As I was staying at the #Marriott nearby, I just dropped by this restaurant after running through the large array of Greek dishes in the menu. I ordered the traditional #Greek #Salad, #Potatosalad, #cheesecroquettes, and FREE honey and chocolate glazed fritters!

The #honey and #chocolate glazed fritters were the icing on the cake after a mouth-watering heavy meal. I had refused to eat these fritters as I was really full but the waiter was very confident that me and my family would finish two whole plates of them. These fritters are called #loukoumades in Greek and they are definitely a highly-recommended dessert when one travels in Greece.
